About the Military Affairs Committee:
The purpose of the Military Affairs Committee is to enhance relations between the military and civilian communities and to provide support for our Fort Polk soldiers and their families. The Military Affairs Committee conducts four events each year to entertain and boost the morale of our soldiers. Military Affairs Committee dues are $150 annually per Chamber Member.

Reese receives Association of Defense Communities honor
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Mike Reese, Fort Polk Progress chairman, was honored with the community/state leadership award by the Association of Defense Communities at the ADC National Summit in Washington, D.C. on June 21.
According to the association, the award is given to an "individual whose outstanding leadership helps (1) drive the success of a base redevelopment project; and/or (2) build a military-community partnership to enhance the mission of an active installation. A nominee may be an elected or appointed (non-military) official at the state, regional or local level, a volunteer, or the chief executive officer of a local redevelopment authority (or equivalent organization)."
