  • The Louisiana Economic Development recently launched the Louisiana Business Connection, a new website helping small businesses and large projects make valuable connections in Louisiana. On LouisianaBusinessConnection.com large and small businesses operating in Louisiana may register at no cost and discover contract opportunities.

Louisiana Business Connection is designed to connect major business projects with disadvantaged business enterprises, minority-owned businesses, woman-owned businesses, veteran-owned businesses, and the other small businesses of Louisiana to promote growth and inclusiveness in the state. To get connected with other Louisiana businesses, visit LouisianaBusinessConnection.com.

About 2,100 of our Fort Polk soldiers will be deploying in August for nine months.  There is an initiative underway to find ways to reach out to the families of our deployed military to make Leesville "The Best Hometown in the Army."  We can help in many ways and help with suggestions that you, as a business might want to participate. We are hoping that the spouses of the deployed military will find staying here more attractive than moving.

One way that businesses are already helping is by offering an active duty military discount. I would like to publish a list of those businesses so that our military families are aware of that benefit. Will you please respond to this email and let me know if you are now offering or will start offering a military discount.

Please reply just as soon as possible so that we can get this information out before the families go on "block leave."
